Lovers Day review

The story is nothing new but a simple teenage love story happens in 12th standard. Priya( Priya varrier) is a beautiful girl in the higher secondary school and Roshan (Roshan Abdul) is a young charming guy who likes and always tries to woo her. But Priya enjoys his efforts but simply rejects him every time. The whole film happens in the 2 years of their intermediate. In the meanwhile, a tomboyish kind of girl named Gatha (Norrin Shereef) enters the scene and tries to come between them. So this forms a love triangle between the three. All the fun, romance and jealous happened between the leads forms the story.

Wink girl Priya Prakash Varrier is definitely one of the major highlights of the film with her expressions and the performance. Roshan Abdul is also impressive and will definitely have a bright future. His acting is good and dances moves are impressive. Another highlight in the film is curly hair girl Noorin shereef is exceptional in her tomboyish role and did a good performance. The remaining actors Arun A Kumar, Michelle Ann Danie, Dilrupa Aswad, and others have delivered decent performances in their roles.

Technical Aspects:

The production values of the film are decent and perfect for this kind of story. Music scored by Shaan Rahman is good and definitely one of the noticeable element in the film. Few songs look good watching on screen. Editing done by Achu is just okay and could have been more engaging. Coming to the direction Omar Lulu did just an okay job because the story offers nothing much but a simple teenage love story.

  • Main leads
  • Few songs
  • Teenage romance

  • Routine Story
  • Lack of strong content
  • Screenplay
  • Few dull scenes

Final Verdict:

On a whole, Oru Adaar Love aka Lovers Day is a simple routine kind of love story showcases teen romance which will impress mainly teenagers. There is nothing much to talk about the film content wise except a few impressive expressions and romance. The first half of the film is a bit entertaining but the second half becomes dull especially the climax. Engaging story or the fun elements are missing in the film. Except for a few winks and expressions film offers nothing impressive. So, overall the film failed to match the hype it got before the release. With low expectations one who like teenage love stories and romance can give a try, rest can wait to watch it online or on Television.

Bottom Line: Not very impressive
